Performance Supervisor

Summary

Working as part of the performance management team this varied role involves day to day supervision and planning of the production team (60~ employees spread across 2 shifts). Ensuring parts are produced on time and to the required quality standard whilst maintaining all health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Know and remain aware of relevant Health and Safety regulations.
  • Ensure adherence to regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Lead, direct and focus the efforts of the team to manufacture products effectively and efficiently; ensure the department achieves targets.
  • Ensure manufactured products match the specs on engineering drawings; ensure they handled carefully to prevent damage/further action.
  • Ensure products manufacturing documents and electronic information is accurate.
  • Remain aware of quality standards/procedures; ensure these are followed.
  • When things don’t go as planned, identify and implement appropriate responses in a timely manner.
  • Accurately report departments & achievements to Performance Management.
  • Maintaining an organised, clean and safe workspace; ensure quick set-up times.
  • Monitor staff and machine performances; ensure they meet daily targets.
  • Identify Continuous Improvement activities relating to Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People and Performance.
  • Supervise Team-Members; ensure consistently high-activity and efficiency.
  • Engage and motivate staff through positive, effective and timely communication.
  • Periodically, review workers & performances; identify development opportunities.
  • Handle poor performance with an appropriate and timely manner, style and response to ensure performance improvement.
  • Identify human and material resources needed to meet departments objectives.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Manufacturing experience
  • Dependable, responsible contributor who’s committed to excellence and success.
  • Generic business & part number knowledge.
  • Good management and interpersonal skills, (team-worker/communicator).
  • Target-oriented.
  • Quality, health and safety focused.

Desirable:

  • HND/NVQ/Apprenticeship: in Engineering, Manufacture or equivalent.
  • Formal management qualifications.
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience
  • CNC Machining experience
  • GCSE: English Language and Maths at grade C or above.
  • Computer Literate (ideally with a recognised qualification)

Working Hours:

AM: Monday to Thursday, 6am to 1.35pm | Friday, 6am to 12.45pm
PM: Monday to Thursday, 1.25pm to 9.05pm | Friday, 12.35pm to 7pm

Overtime available when required.
