Summary
To provide the leadership in nuclear medicine technology supporting both the commercial and delivery teams at this company. This is a new role at this company and is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to help shape their progress into the growing nuclear medicines market globally (starting with the UK and Europe).

The role will include the development of relationships with academia, clients, supply chain and trade bodies and help develop Nuclear Medicine capabilities and services at this company. You must be familiar with regulatory requirements for pre-clinical trials and equipment together with full GMP production and validation requirements. Because the position is new, they believe the candidate could fit their parameters coming from a Clinical Scientist route, Medical Physics or already in a similar role in the supply chain. The ideal candidate will need an in-depth knowledge of current practice in diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine and familiar in the use of hot cells for radio pharmaceutical production.

A key part of the role is to provide advice and support during the development and implementation of new equipment, techniques and for recommending best practice in line with current regulations and guidelines. The role is a collaborative supporting position working with a range of stakeholders from academia, industry, and the NHS.

Key Aims and Objectives

  • Provide the leadership in nuclear medicine technology supporting both the commercial and delivery teams at this company.

Prime Responsibilities and Duties

  • Be familiar with regulatory requirements for pre-clinical trials and equipment together with full GMP production and validation requirements.
  • To gain knowledge of market activity in nuclear medicine, principally in the UK and Europe and be the main point of contact for academia, clients, suppliers, and trade bodies.
  • To maintain familiarity with the full range of nuclear medicine, Single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), and Positron emission tomography (PET), providing ongoing expert scientific and technical support.
  • To gain and maintain awareness of all nuclear medicine supply chains including the use of waste radionuclides, new fission/fusion technology (e.g., SHINE Technologies and NorthStar Medical) and other technology being developed.
  • To direct and support the technical delivery of engineering proposals and projects in relation to the scientific and regulatory aspects of radio pharmaceutical production.
  • Participate in various activities linked to the design, manufacture, installation, acceptance testing and commissioning of new nuclear medicine equipment.
  • Lead representation of [or Lead representative of] the company at the British Nuclear Medical Society and the European Association of Nuclear Medicines.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • BSc in Clinical Technology with specialisation in Nuclear Medicine during the degree or BSc in Radiography
  • Current registration with relevant professional body.
  • The ideal candidate will need an in-depth knowledge of current practice in diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine and familiar in the use of hot cells for radio pharmaceutical production.
  • Provide advice and support during the development and implementation of new equipment, techniques and for recommending best practice in line with current regulations and guidelines
  • Nuclear Experience Essential.
