Senior Manager, QC Lab

Overview:
A leading global beauty manufacturer is seeking a Senior Manager, QC Lab to oversee quality control, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced production environment. This role is critical in ensuring regulatory adherence, optimising laboratory operations, and enhancing global and local quality strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
Quality Control & Laboratory Management

  • Lead daily QC lab operations, ensuring all raw materials, mass, and finished goods meet specifications.
  • Manage lab workflow, sample analysis, retention, standards, raw material qualification, TPM testing, outsourced testing, inventory, and documentation.
  • Provide QC expertise for plant hygiene, environmental monitoring, and risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, R&D, and cross-functional teams to resolve test discrepancies.
  • Update SOPs and work instructions based on lab trends and CAPA
  • findings.
    Testing Data Review & Compliance
  • Review and approve routine and non-routine test data, including microbiological testing, chromatograms, logbooks, and calculations.
  • Ensure timely entry of test results into SAP/LIMS and oversee the release of raw materials, mass, and finished goods.
  • Maintain compliance with GMP regulations, company policies, and global quality standards.

Equipment Management

  • Oversee the budget, procurement, installation, and maintenance of QC
    lab equipment.
  • Manage calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and
    validation of laboratory instruments.
    Continuous Improvement & Audits
  • Lead internal audits and ensure regulatory readiness.
  • Work with Planning, QA Labs, Manufacturing, and Operations to drive process improvements.
  • Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to implement enhancement strategies.
  • Investigate customer complaints and implement corrective actions.

Team Leadership & Training

  • Manage and mentor QC Lab Managers, ensuring alignment with company
    and QA strategy goals.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and career development for QC staff.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive quality training curriculum for
    laboratory personnel.

Candidate Requirements:
Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of managerial experience in Quality Control, Microbiology, Analytical Chemistry, or Product Evaluation within consumer goods or pharmaceuticals.
  • Experience managing multiple laboratories in a cGMP-regulated environment.
  • Proven expertise in developing and overseeing SOPs in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Strong background in data integrity compliance and audit preparation.
  • Proficiency in statistical data assessment for quality control and
    decision-making.
  • Knowledge of SAP, Electronic QMS, and Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
