About the Job
A leading distributor of aerospace coatings, composite materials, and allied products across Europe and beyond is seeking an Operations & Site Manager. The company prides itself on providing high-level technical support through proactive customer service and expert frontline technical representation.

Role Summary and Main Purpose of Position
As Operations & Site Manager, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to the Custom Packaging and Composites customer base across the EMEA region.

This role oversees all aspects of customer service, production, warehouse, and distribution operations. You will also collaborate closely with the supply chain, QHSE, and sales teams to ensure customer satisfaction.

You will align operational functions with strategic goals and contribute to setting and delivering on company-wide KPIs and objectives as part of the senior UK management team. This includes leading your team through effective coaching, mentoring, and performance management.

Key Deliverables & Responsibilities

  • Lead with a “customer first” mindset and embed this approach across your team.
  • Manage all site facilities and ensure scheduled maintenance of the building and critical equipment.
  • Oversee customer service, production, warehouse, and distribution processes to comply with the Quality Management System and drive efficiency.
  • Support the customer services team in achieving targets and effective resource utilisation.
  • Take ownership of customer issues and ensure timely resolution.
  • Work with the supply chain team to meet stock-related targets including optimisation, availability, and obsolescence reduction.
  • Liaise with key suppliers to improve delivery performance and product quality.
  • Monitor and report on key operational metrics such as OTD, OTIF, and stock levels through ERP software.
  • Manage third-party providers and consignment locations to ensure smooth
    operations.
  • Implement a Sales and Operational Plan (S&OP) to support accurate forecasting and inventory management.
  • Provide HR support within your team including staffing, disciplinary matters, and training.
  • Ensure effective use of IT systems and CRM tools.
  • Contribute to cross-functional meetings and strategic company development at a national level.
  • Lead health and safety compliance and continuous improvement at the Holywell Green site.
  • Perform additional duties as reasonably requested by the General Manager.

Key Challenges (and KPIs)

  • Develop and maintain service procedures and standards with efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Analyse operational data and produce insightful performance reports.
  • Maintain accurate ERP data such as pricing and trade agreements.
  • Support and develop team members through motivation, training, and structured performance management.
  • Facilitate regular team communication and coordination with supply chain and wider business teams.
  • Track departmental and individual performance and ensure target achievement and continuous improvement.
